First Person on Scene
This short course, usually 4 or 6 hours, is intended to teach
people some basic first aid for outdoor situations. In most cases
this course is for outward-bound classes or people who are teaching
sports activities. This course is popular with students who have
a practical and out-going attitude. Role play and scenario training
plays a large part of the teaching, giving an insight into how to
respond to an accident or immediate life threatening emergency in
circumstances that may be outside the work place.
The main focus is related to hands-on practice & learning how
to give practical help to someone who needs it quickly. You will
feel more confident if you are ever faced with an unconscious casualty.
You will learn how to help save a life by practising cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) on adult, child and baby manikins. You will
learn to deal with small cuts, to major bleeding, bruises, broken
bones, strains & sprains, This course is designed to be fun
but with serious side to it.
Successful students will receive a certificate valid for three
years.
