Two Day Early Years (Paediatric) First Aid Course
This two day course is aimed at all levels. It is a comprehensive
introduction to first aid and covers recognition & care of unwell
children. It is specifically designed to give more information about
first aid and the immediate treatment of common childhood conditions.
This course is ideal for child minders, child carers, playgroups
& people working with, or caring for, children of all ages.
It meets the current Ofsted and Surestart requirements and conforms
with the Resuscitation Council Guidelines providing evidence for
employees working towards an N.V.Q. in Childcare & Education.
By the end of the course you will have an understanding of basic
first aid, be able to deal with a life saving situations such as
cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Develop the skills needed to treat
everyday illness or accidents with confidence.

- PLANNING & DEALING WITH FIRST AID EMERGENCIES
- RESUSCITATING BABIES & CHILDREN
- TREATMENT OF AN UNCONSCIOUS CASUALTY (RECOVERY POSITION)
- RECOGNISING & DEALING WITH CHOKING
- RECOGNISING & DEALING WITH SHOCK
- RESPONDING TO ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK
- RECOGNISING & RESPONDING TO ELECTRIC SHOCK
- RESPONDING APPROPRIATELY TO: BURNS & SCALDS / FRACTURES
/ HEAD INJURY
- POISONING / FOREIGN BODIES (EYES, EARS & NOSE)
- DEALING WITH BITES & STINGS
- PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE EFFECTS OF EXTREME HEAT OR COLD
- ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT OF A CHILD WHO IS BLEEDING
- TREATMENT OF GENERAL MEDICAL CONDITIONS SUCH AS EYE INJURY,
ASTHMA, DIABETES, EPILEPSY, MENINGITIS & FEBRILE CONVULSION
